Our Service

Sustainable hunting in Namibia

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris is a family-run business led by Philip Hennings.

Philip discovered his passion for hunting through his father, who introduced him to hunting on the farm as a child and shared his knowledge with him. Since 2012, Philip Hennings has successfully organized and operated hunting safaris, which are always individually planned and executed.

With years of experience in traditional stalk hunting, Philip and his team know how to handle any situation and remain flexible to accommodate the wishes of their hunting guests.

"We operate far from mass tourism and place great emphasis on building a personal relationship with our guests. Individuality is our top priority. Farm Heusis is a home for hunters from all over the world."

— Philip Hennings

Hunting character

Our name, Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris, stands for ethical experience hunting in Namibia. As the name "Khomas Highland" suggests, we mainly offer hunts in the mountains of Namibia, with a focus on the highlands west of Namibia's capital, Windhoek.

Although our hunting area has good infrastructure and much can be travelled by vehicle, our hunting safaris maintain the character of free-range stalking hunts.

We take pride in offering hunts for free-roaming game such as kudu, oryx, hartebeest, springbok, zebra and much more.

All-inclusive

The "Hunting in Namibia" package

At Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris, we place great emphasis on the well-being of hunters and excellent organization. From airport pickup to the entire hunting duration and the end of your stay in Namibia, everything is taken care of.

For hunters who don't want to go out in the field every day, we also offer smaller excursions to Namibia's tourist attractions. Visits to the capital Windhoek or trips to Etosha National Park, Sossusvlei or the coastal town of Swakopmund are popular options.

Our specialty is seamless organization, ensuring that your hunting experience is as enjoyable as possible. With good spirits and extensive knowledge of Namibia's bush wildlife, we will accompany you on your safari and help fulfil your dream of hunting in Africa. All that's required is a strong passion for hunting.

Our hunting grounds

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris currently offers hunting in three areas in Namibia.

Highlands
Khomas Highlands

Our own 8,500 hectares, plus surrounding farms within the 173,000-hectare Khomas Highland Conservancy.

Kalahari
Okambara Elephant Lodge

15,000 hectares of untouched Kalahari savanna and mountains in the heart of Namibia.

Namib Desert
Farm Mount Valley

21,000 hectares on the edge of the Namib Desert — the last gem of the desert.

We are happy to accommodate special requests. If you're looking to hunt animals not found in the Khomas Highlands, Mount Valley or the Kalahari, we can arrange hunting on other farms by special request, and gladly organize extended hunting trips. Regardless of whether you are an experienced hunter or a beginner, we will make your trophy hunt in Namibia an unforgettable experience.

For your companions

Accompanying persons

It goes without saying that Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris also offers a variety of programs for guests accompanying the hunter. It is our pleasure to offer separate game drives, horse riding or guided hikes. A shopping trip to Windhoek can also be organised.

Before you pack

Hunting gear: clothing, shoes & accessories

The ideal hunting clothes should be of unobtrusive, muted colour to match the natural Namibian environment — yellow or green khaki or camouflage. For Namibia's hot summer months we recommend light but sturdy clothes, including a hat and a pullover for the cooler evenings. As it can get cold during winter we also recommend warm clothes and a well-fitted, not too large, parka or anorak. If joining an early morning hunt in June or July, a beanie can certainly do no harm.

Our hunting focus lies on ethical hunts on foot in the open, rocky field. Sturdy, worn-in footwear like boots or half-boots is highly recommended. For relaxation after the hunt, bring along some sandals or light footwear.

Bring along sunscreen lotion — even though you can purchase it in Namibia, it is rather expensive. Insect repellent (Tabard, Peaceful Sleep) can be bought in every supermarket in Windhoek, or bring your own from home. Please do not forget a torch.
